Luxembourg Open: Other turnover means finals

It seems that Andrea Hlavackova with Lucie Hradecka wants to test besides their forms as well the nervous system of their fans. In dramatic semi-finals American Bethanie Mattek-Sands and German Andrea Petkovic were defeated by the first seed Czechs 4:6, 6:4 and 10:8.

The favorites entered into the game better and gained an advantage of break, but high quality opponents managed to win the first set. In the second set the roles of pairs were changed and the Czech duo succeeded in the turnover at this time. American and German were winning in the super tie break 3:0, but then the 3rd pair in the world was enough strong to equalize the match in score 5:5. And then in the end of the game after 94 minutes H+H took second match point.

“We were expecting a challenging game and it was confirmed. Mattek-Sands is excellent singles and Petkovic was recently one of the top 10 players in the world. We played a very good duel, fortunately we managed calmly the end of the match,” declared Andrea.

In the final match the first seed pair from Czech will play against the second duo of tournament Irina-Cameli Begu and Monica Niculescu from Romania.
