An unlucky thirteen. Another attack on the 13th WTA tour doubles title of Andrea´s career did not work out. It was the second time when Andrea Hlavackova got into the finals with her “spare” partner Liezel Huber from the USA, but Kristina Mladenovic (FRA) and Lucie Safarova (CZE) were luckier in Charleston.

The beginning of the match the first seeded pair managed better. But after their leading 3:1 opponents were more precise and won the set. In the attractive and balanced second set the Czech-American pair lost three set points. On the other hand the unseeded pair took the first chance in set point and won all match. After 95 minutes Mladenovic and Safarova won 6:3, 7:6 (6).

“It was good match. Opponents played aggressively but also we were able to play well. Although I was able to practice my game – it means to be an aggressive from the back and manage a playing at the net and nicely served, so unfortunately their services were very good and they found a way in a playing of my partner at the net, what everything complicated. It´s true that Lucie won here with Pavlyuchenkova, so we can say that we played against defending champions and we have an excellent tournament behind us,” Andrea said.

Now a difficult movement to Europe is behind Andrea. On Wednesday she will play in Poland at the BNP Paribas Katowice Open tournament against the second seeded Italian Roberta Vinci. “Now I´ll try to get to Katowice on Wednesday´s match. I´ll see how I´ll feel after arrival, because the trip will be really full of hardship and I should be in Katowice on Tuesday,” Andrea added.
