Unhappy ending of H+H in quarterfinals

Andrea Hlavackova and Lucie Hradecka didn´t repeat their last year´s participation in Wimbledon final. They lost very unlucky against Australian pair Asleigh Barty, Casey Dellacqua 6:2, 2:6, 4:6.

In the 3rd round the second seeded pair easily won against the Spanish pair Silvia Soler-Espinosa, Carla Suarez in 68 minutes. Andrea and Lucie were very happy because of this victory, like you can see on the picture. Then it was clear that the Czech pair have to play against very hard opponents. Unfortunately the finalists of this year´s Australian Open were over their heads. The match, which decided about who will be between four best, took more than an hour and a half.

The Australians were luckier. “It´s a pity that we didn´t managed it, cos I think we could do that. In the first set we played very well. The opponents didn ´t know what to do. Unfortunately we were not able to play so good also in the other sets and the Australians got into match,” Andrea Hlaváčková observed.

The match was decided in the third balanced set, in which the opponents had bigger problems during their service. But in score 4:5 Lucie Hradecka lost her service and it was over. “In 4:4 Barty played her service sovereign. Got four winning balls directly from the service or from the game and we didn´t succeed during our service. So we´re leaving disappointed and really exhausted from the last weeks´ programme,” she added.

In Wimblendon Andrea finished also in mix. After free draw in the first round, the new made pair Andrea Hlavackova and Max Mirnyj from Belarus lost with a pair Vera Dushevina (RUS), Jean-Julien Rojer (NED) 6:7, 3:6.
