Andrea Focuses on Doubles in Cincinnati

Andrea Hlavackova unfortunately finished in singles in the tournament in Cincinnati. Right in the first round of qualification in singles Andrea was defeated by Romanian Monica Niculescu who won 6:1, 6:4. So now Andrea is concentrating on a doubles in which she will play with an experienced player, Lisa Raymond (USA).

“In the first round of qualification I met the opponent with who I don´t like to train let alone to play a regular match. I don´t like her playing style and it was quite hard to get into my playing rhythm after a few weeks without any tournament,” Andrea said after defeat with the third seeded in qualification in Cincinnati.

However in doubles Andrea has completely different ambitions on the American concrete surface. “Lucie Hradecka is not healthy still, but fortunately in last minute I make a deal with a super player. Lisa Raymond, former number one in doubles, was available,” Andrea smiled with satisfaction.

The both excellent players in doubles have the same birth date. “She celebrated her birthday as me few days ago and it doesn´t matter to me that I´m 27 and she is 40. We trained together for the first time. We understand very well each other on the court and I´m really looking forward to work and play with her. We have bye in the first round. Then we will play against winner from the match Cara Black (ZIM), Martina Erakovic (NZL) – Angelique Kerber, Andrea Petkovic (GER),” Andrea added.
