“The day was cruel. Since half past eight in the morning we have been waiting for match. It has been raining til half past five, when we finally started to play. I appreciate the match as high level and I have so good feeling from our games here at US Open with Lucie. Even in narrow situation we have a courage and I think this is it what decides about the winners,” Andrea Hlavackova confided happily.

In the first set the Czech pair got an advantage of set point and H+H utilized it. “But then they started to play very well, mainly because of an excellent service from Hercog and good movements of Raymond in front of the net. We started to lose 2:5. However we didn´t give up this set and we got it into tie-break, which was very good played by us,” Andrea evaluated.

But her second match of this day was not played. Andrea will play the quarterfinals of the mix together with Belarus Max Mirnyi on Tuesday. “We´re in the quarterfinals of doubles in mix competition, in which I would like to improve my evaluation and play a semifinal for the first time. But we will play against last year’s finals PEschke, Matkowski so I hope that our fans will keep their fingers crossed for us. Thank you for that,” Andrea sent word with a smile.
