Andrea won the second Grand Slam title!

After the triumph in Paris in 2011 at the women´s doubles Andrea Hlavackova won the second Grand Slam title! She triumphed with Max Mirnyi from Belarus in the mix doubles. In the finals they defeated pair Abigail Spears (USA) and Santiago Gonzales (MEX) 7:6, 6:3.

The game was not so good from the beginning. Andrea and Max were losing 1:4. “Mainly I started a little bit slow. The opponents took my service, but my partner held me and at the end of the first set I made some incredible balls. I believed that we can manage it together,” Andrea Hlavackova was smiling.

In the tie-break Czech-Belarusian pair had superiority and won it. “In the each match at the US Open I was lucky in an ending game, so I suspected that I would help with something,” Andrea was saying and added to the second set: “I´ve been starting to be in a good shape and helped with returns to my partner so he could made a good services. We did it!”

She had never been in the mix doubles at the Grand Slam tournament even in the semifinals. It is right the title during the first time between the last four. “It is absolutely amazing to win a Grand Slam title with so good partner like Max. It is just dream,” Andrea enthused. Few hours later Andrea played semifinals with Lucie Hradecka against the Williams sisters.
