Andrea is talking about Fed Cup and tournaments in Doha and Dubai

Andrea Hlavackova again enjoyed amazing and also little sad moments and was flying thousands kilometres. She participated in a victory of Czech team in the first round of Fed Cup in Spain, Sevilla. For a moment she was playing on the tournament in Doha and now she is looking forward to a qualification in singles and main competition in doubles in Dubai.

She will never forget a match in Fed Cup in Sevilla because she was for the first time in the situation in which Andrea had to win and get a point to Czech team could win 3:2. “It was an amazing experience even when we had to train every day in a cold and rainy weather. We really enjoyed it although everything was confused,” Andrea evaluated.

For the first time Andrea was a part of the team, in which Lucie Hradecka her successful former teammate missed: “In addition Petra Kvitova couldn´t play. Petra is our certainty for singles. The more we are glad that we made it and each of us made a point.”

But for a while it seemed that there would not be any advancing. There was rainy in Sevilla, although the International tennis federation ITF allowed Spain to play on open clay courts in February without lights for evening matches or for “wet” option in a sports centre. There was only one match on Sunday. “That was a time when we were thinking with other girls to boycott this tournament and rather go to play a tournament in Doha. At the end we agreed that it would be better to give everything to this tournament in Spain and get into the World Group and then to make some comments about bad conditions,” she added.

The match prolonged until Monday evening. At this time Lucie Safarova and Klara Zakopalova had to go by private plane to Qatar, where they had some duties in singles. So doubles in score 2:2 had to play pair from Plzen Andrea Hlavackova and Barbora Zahlavova-Strycova. They defeated pair from Spain Soler-Espinosa and Suarez-Navarro 7:6, 6:3 and so Czech players could celebrate. “For me it was my first “live” point in Fed Cup and I´m really very happy, that we managed it. For sixth time Czech republic is in the semi-finals of Fed Cup and finally I have also some credit on it,” Andrea was smiling with satisfaction.

But there was no time for celebration. On Tuesday she flew to Doha, where she was playing with Lucie Safarova against displeasing pair Kudryavtseva and Rodionova. “We were not so lucky for a draw and also opponents´ form. We played tolerable, but they managed everything. This is also tennis,” Andrea was saying after losing 4:6 and 1:6.

Immediately after that Andrea moved to Dubai, where she should play originally again only doubles. “I am glad, that I´ve got to qualification of singles. It is really tournament full of the best players on the world in which only TOP 20 on the world are playing a main competition and the rest wants to get to a qualification. So I will play my best and also with Lucie we will play doubles on which we are very looking forward,” Andrea added.
