Quick end in China

Andrea Hlavackova´s first match in the new season lasted just 63 minutes. She lost at the 1st round of the tournament in the Chinese Shenzhen on New Years Eve with Klara Zakopalova 1:6 and 1:6.

Fancied 28th player of the world just leaded 3:0, in 4:1 Andrea had an opportunity to get back into the match but she didn´t make four breakballs and then she had no chance. Psychological advantage easily obtained during the first set was reflected in the following part of the match. The second set was more balanced but still it finished with the same result, when Andrea made too many mistakes.

“Klara had an excellent start. She played the first set almost without any mistakes. During the second set the game was equalized. Practically Andrea could win every game, but unfortunately she didn´t win any breakballs and gameballs. Andrea missed the match strain, but it´s normal at the beginning of the season. On the other hand we have to commend Klara. She played very well,” Tomas Petera, Andrea´s coach, said.
