Andrea managed the first step

The first Andrea´s match of 2013 ended victoriously. Even she had huge problem with blocked cervical spine the day before the game. Andrea defeated compatriot Kristina Pliskova 6:7(5), 6:3, 6:2 in two and a quarter hours in the opening match of qualification in tournament Apia International Sydney.

“Yesterday I lay in pain and I was afraid to go to court, because it could be worse. Physiotherapist made a great job. And it wasn´t getting worse during the match. I was so glad thanks to it that I didn´t address the score and opponent,” Andrea said.

In a score of 5:4 Andrea missed an opportunity to win the first set during her service. The first set got to the tie-break, which won five years younger 104th player of the world. “From the middle of the second set I played without any mistakes and correctly tactically. I´m happy for the victory and also for that how I felt on the court,” she added.

Andrea will play in the next round against Slovakian Jana Cepelova, just 19 years old talented tennis player from Kosice. “She is a young player, who I know. But she is new in WTA Tour and she has a quite good results. So I mustn´t underestimate her,” Andrea said. Andrea Hlavackova played against Cepelova (now 111th WTA rankings) just once. In 2011 at the ITF tournament in Chiasso on clay Andrea won 6:0, 6:4.
