Melbourne: Fast end in the singles

The young Croatian tennis player Donna Vekic showed an excellent tennis in the first round of Australian Open. Andrea Hlavackova managed only three games and talented opponent won 1:6 and 2:6.

Only sixteen years old Vekic flew into the match in Melbourne as a hurricane, she played really very well, and soon she led 3:0. “She served great, she had a good rhythm from the beginning and simply she was better in everything,” Andrea Hlavackova said. Then it was impossible to stop the Croatian. Andrea also made too many mistakes and her service wasn´t successful too.

In the second set Vekic lost once her service, but after that she dominated on the court again. She won the match in 72 minutes and she will play against Wozniacki from Denmark. “The fact that in the sixteen years she fights to get between the first hundred players in the world shows her talent. She deserved to get into the next round,” Andrea said.

In Melbourne Andrea will play only in doubles. Pair H + H will play on Wednesday from about 6 o´clock CET. They will play against the pair Eleni Daniilidou (GRE), Christina McHale (USA).
